Future Tennessee Vols ignited Week 3 as Jaden Butler’s five-touchdown masterclass and David Gabriel Georges’ explosive ground game headlined a dominant slate of performances for Tennessee’s prized commits.
Tennessee football’s future continues to perform under the Friday night lights.
Leading the pack was Tennessee’s multi-million dollar running back of the future that found the end zone three different times. Other performances ranged from a record-tying week to an all-around performance hard to match.
Here’s a look at how some future Vols performed during Week 3 of the high school football season.
Three-star safety Jaden Butler (2027)
Though the competition was inferior, the future SEC pledge did exactly what he was supposed to.
As Haywood steamed to a 61-0 win over Craigmont, Jaden Butler did everything. And that means everything. Butler recorded three interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns. Butler also recorded two punt return touchdowns. Butler also had a rushing touchdown.
The 2027 safety commit accounted for 30 points alone. He scored three touchdowns before Haywood took an offensive snap.
And he also threw and completed two passes. Butler recorded 343 yards of total offense in the game.
Five-star running back David Gabriel Georges (2027)
Another week, another dominant performance for the in-state rusher.
The Baylor School star tallied a 16-carry, 196-yard effort in a high-scoring win over Rabun Gap. Gabriel Georges found pay dirt three times in the Red Raiders’ 51-33 win.
One of his scampers went 77 yards to the end zone.
Gabriel Georges has rushed for 438 yards in three appearances this season as nationally ranked Baylor (Tenn.) starts 3-0.
Four-star quarterback Kaden Craft (2028)
North Carolina 7A football appears to be a breeze for the Vols’ four-star pledge out of Lake Norman High School.
Craft tossed for four touchdowns on 12-for-13 (92%) passing in a 49-0 win for the Wildcats. Lake Norman (N.C.) scored 42 first-half points, presumably the only half of football Craft played on Sept. 4.
The eighth-ranked passer in the 2028 class is up to 627 yards and seven touchdowns in the first three games of the season. He’s led Lake Norman to a 3-0 record with an offense scoring nearly 44 points per game.
Three-star quarterback Derrick Baker (2027)
A week after getting handled by five-star target DJ Jacobs, Derrick Baker bounced back to get Milton (Ga.) back in the win column.
Baker tied a school record with five touchdown passes in a 53-21 win over Cambridge. He went 15-of-22 for 318 yards and an interception in the win.
Baker is 41-for-66 with 672 yards, seven touchdowns and two interceptions in his senior season. Milton is 2-1 and hits the road for Baker’s future home state — taking on Battle Ground Academy (Tenn.) and Tennessee receiver targets Maddox Porter and Maximus Curry on Sept. 11.
Brentwood Academy stars combine for big plays
In the midstate, four-star linebacker commit Kenneth Simon II (2027) and four-star receiver commit Kesean Bowman (2027) put forth their best efforts despite a Brentwood Academy loss.
Simon nearly came away with a pick-six for the second consecutive week.
Bowman, meanwhile, hauled in a long reception that set the Eagles up to score first.
Brentwood Academy lost the game 31-23 to St. Joseph’s Prep (Pa.)
