Tennessee junior linebacker Edwin Spillman has earned the distinct honor of being one of just 11 FBS players named to the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, as well as a semifinalist for the Wuerffel Trophy.

The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team recognizes college football players for their leadership in community service, academics and athletics. Established in 1992 and presented by Allstate since 2008, it is one of college football's most prestigious honors for community impact.

Spillman was selected to this year's team from a group of 162 nominees by a panel of former Good Works Team members, college football coaches, journalists and other leaders.

He is the first UT player to be named to the AFCA Good Works Team since Jerod Mayo in 2007.

A member of the Vols' leadership council, Spillman has committed more than 120 hours to community service while using NIL resources to support the Wan Fambul Foundation, which assists families and children in Sierra Leone. His charitable work includes supporting food security, education, housing projects and child welfare initiatives.

Spillman's dedication to giving back reflects his desire to create opportunities for others who face challenges similar to those he once overcame.Since arriving in Knoxville, Spillman has worked to become one of the team's top linebackers and defensive leaders. The in-state product burst on the scene in 2025, earning Freshman All-America honors as well as Freshman All-SEC recognition after leading all freshmen in the conference with 81 total tackles.

The winner of this year's Wuerffel Trophy will be chosen from the group of 11 players on the AFCA Good Works Team. The Wuerffel Trophy is named after Heisman Trophy winner, College Football Hall of Famer, former NFL quarterback, and renowned humanitarian Danny Wuerffel, whose life mission is to inspire greater service in the world.

The finalists for the Wuerffel Trophy will be selected by the award's National Selection Committee, with input from a fan vote. Fans can vote for the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy recipient at ESPN.com/Allstate through Nov. 3.

The recipient will be announced live on The Home Depot College Football Awards show on Dec. 11 and also serve as captain of the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.
