KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee's Henry Ford was named to the Baseball America Week 5 Team of the Week following another productive week at the plate.
The junior third baseman led the Vols with three home runs, 10 RBIs and 16 total bases over four games last week, including a three-RBI outing in UT's series-opening road win at No. 6/8 Georgia on Friday night in Athens.
Two of Ford's three homers for the week came against the Bulldogs, as he went deep in Friday's SEC opener and again on Sunday. He was also perfect defensively at third base, posting a 1.000 fielding percentage on nine chances for the week.
Entering this week, Ford leads the team in OPS (1.084), runs (19), hits (30), homers (8), RBIs (25), total bases (58) and slugging percentage (.682). His 30 hits are tied for seventh in the SEC. The Virginia transfer has a hit in 12 of his last 14 games entering this week and has driven in runs in nine of his last 12 contests.
