Stars advance and some see seasons end as Tennessee's 2026 commits battle for championships. Key prospects navigate bye weeks while others dominate the field.

Playoff football is underway for most of the 2026 Tennessee recruiting class, with some of the players already beginning their runs at a championship.

Some of the headlining prospects sit within a first-round bye week. Players such as Faizon Brandon and Tristen Keys were absent from last week's action due to the bye.

Only a few participated in last week's action. Here are the storylines.

    Ath. Salesi Moa

The multi-faceted, four-star athlete out of Fremont High School in Plain City, Utah, Moa has posted 80 or more yards in 10 of his 11 games this season, the only instance below the mark coming during his first game of the season.

Most recently, Fremont dropped their playoff matchup 27-14 to Brighton High School. Moa finished the game with his third-lowest total in yards with 84 receiving over six receptions. Good for an average of 14 yards a catch.

His season totals moved to 1,272 with 16 touchdowns over 11 games. While his season comes to an end with the playoff loss, Moa earned his rating as a four-star in the top 50 players of the nation according to 247sports.

    Ath. Joel Wyatt

Another athlete ranked in the top 50, just two spots behind Moa, Joel Wyatt finds himself 48th in the nation, according to 247sports. Hailing from Oakland High School in Murfreesboro, Tenn., Wyatt advanced in the state playoffs the past week after defeating Cookeville, 42-10.

In the victory, Wyatt continued his impressive season that he had carried into the game. While the numbers don’t pop off the page, his consistent game on a talented squad such as Oakland lands Wyatt atop the charts.

He finished the game with 66 yards receiving, his second-highest total of the season behind his 69-yard game against Siegel on Sept. 19.

Wyatt is a play-making threat. Despite having just 17 catches on the season over 11 games, his 334 yards and 6 touchdowns rank first on the team by over 100 yards and four touchdowns.

    Edge, Zach Groves

According to 247sports, a three-star defensive edge who also hails from inside the state of Tennessee, Zach Groves and East Robertson High School defeated Riverside, 38-7.

Groves, entering the playoffs, finished his season with his best game of his senior year, tallying six tackles for loss against ENMHS. He continued the trend with another tackle for loss against Riverside.

On the season, Groves owns 14 total tackles for loss and 63 total tackles. While being a lockdown force on the defensive line, Groves also sees time for his school on the offense.

With 52 carries and nine receptions, Groves has been making noise on all fronts of the game. As a rusher, he has 392 yards with six touchdowns. He added another touchdown in the form of a reception. Groves, through 11 games, also has 119 yards receiving.
