Star quarterback Faizon Brandon and defensive powerhouse TJ White lead a talented recruiting class, showcasing future Vols' playmaking on both sides of the ball.

By THEO COLLI

Since returning from an injury that sidelined quarterback Faozon Brandon for the majority of his senior season, Grimsley High School out of North Carolina seems to be well on its way to a title berth as it continues to blow by the competition.

Brandon, along with a handful of other Vols’ commits, continues their state playoff pushes as the seasons come to an end.

QB Faizon Brandon

Despite the stats not being on record for Brandon’s performance on Nov. 21, he still showed up in yet another big way for his team in just his second game back from an injury that had sidelined him all year.

Brandon delivered four separate passing touchdowns in the win, moving his total amount of touchdowns in his last two games to seven, four on Friday and three the week before.

In some more recent rankings news from 247sports, Brandon has been ranked No. 2 among the nation's top recruits.

And for good reason. The kid can play quarterback pretty efficiently for a high schooler. One of his four touchdown passes on Friday was a 38-yard dime that needed no extra yards after catch to count the score.

While the amount of tape is limited compared to his last two seasons at Grimsley, the numbers and wins have spoken for themselves.

Ath Joel Wyatt

An athlete residing in Oak, Tenn.,  Joel Wyatt is a threat for his school on both sides of the football this year.

His impact on offense hasn’t been felt in the last two weeks. Wyatt posted just one catch for three yards on Nov. 14 before following that up with no catches in the next contest.

Despite the limited targets, his defensive efforts have been notable. Against Green Hill on Friday, Wyatt added three more total tackles to his stat line while lining up as a defensive back. His season total moves to 58 on the year.

With two interceptions on the season, Wyatt has been a reliable part of both sides of the football.

LB TJ White

A Jackson Academy standout out of Mississippi, who finds himself ranked in the top 50 for 247sports' 2026 high school player rankings, White continued to help lead his team through the playoffs.

White’s team defeated Hartfield Academy 50-14 over the weekend, where White posted two more tackles in limited snaps during the win.

Due to the nature of the win, White wasn’t needed all game, but the season numbers back up why he’s ranked so high on recruiting sites. With 22 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, and six QB hurries this season, White has been a force.

Ath Salesi Moa

Despite his season ending in the beginning of November, Moa’s numbers seem too good to ignore. He joins a skill group of recruits, such as Wyatt and five-star Tristen Keys, as a lethal receiver group.

Moa came into his own as a pass-catcher in his senior season. While in his first two games, he failed to eclipse the 100-yard mark, he still tallied three touchdowns along with 147 yards in the air.

His season began to pick up after posting an eight-game streak with over 100 yards receiving, his highest total coming on Oct. 3 against Box Elder, Moa posted 153 yards.

With the seventh most receiving yards in the state of Utah with 1,272, along with 17 total touchdowns, Moa will have his chance to make a name for himself across the country with the Vols this next season.
