Aggies ignite Reed Arena with a historic offensive explosion, hitting 100 points for the sixth time. Stellar defense fuels relentless scoring, setting a dominant tone for conference play.

Texas A&M wasted no time putting on a show Monday night, blasting Prairie View A&M 111-82 at Reed Arena to close out non-conference play and keep the offense in full-on turbo mode.

For the first time in program history, A&M has topped 100 points six times in a single season, and they've done it in just 13 games.

The Aggies came out hot in both halves, played with pace, and, outside of a few sloppy stretches, looked like a team that knows exactly what it wants every trip down the floor.

Five Aggies scored in double figures, led by Rashaun Agee, who posted his fifth double-double of the year with 19 points and 13 rebounds. A&M shot 54 percent from the field, knocked down 11 threes while shooting 37 percent from beyond the arc, and moved the ball well with 21 assists.

The defense fueled the runway, too. Twelve steals helped turn pressure into 21 points off turnovers, while Prairie View coughed it up 15 times as A&M repeatedly disrupted any chance the Panthers had to settle in.

There was at least a little trap game chatter entering the night, holiday timing, plus Prairie View coming off a near-upset of LSU, but the Aggies didn't play with their food.

McMillan kept the group locked in, and the payoff was one of A&M's most balanced offensive performances of the season, with the rotation getting extended run as the team adjusts to life without Mackenzie Mgbako, who will miss the remainder of the season due to injury.

The bench brought a serious jolt, accounting for 45 points, and Marcus Hill was as efficient as it gets with 16 points, going 5-of-6 from the field and 6-of-8 at the line.

Now it gets real.

Non-conference play is officially in the rearview, and Texas A&M carries major momentum into SEC action after topping 100 points in three straight games. The Aggies open league play at Reed Arena against LSU on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 3 p.m. CT, airing on ESPNU.
