Former Bowling Green standout Cashius Howell is wrecking SEC offenses at Texas A&M, and his NFL Draft stock is soaring with every dominant rep.

Texas A&M didn't just find an edge rusher ... they found THE edge rusher.

Senior defensive end Cashius Howell, a transfer from Bowling Green, has emerged as one of the most dominant defenders in the SEC, and he's just getting started.

In a recent interview with The Draft Network, the Kansas City native opened up about his journey, adjustment to Aggieland, and mindset shift that’s catapulted his rise as a top NFL Draft prospect.

"I'm not going to sit here and act like I immediately hit the ground running," Howell admitted. "My focus when I first got here was to get bigger, stronger, and faster. I was playing catch-up with my teammates. They had been in this strength program. Eventually, I started to realize it's still football. I didn’t need to make it bigger than it was."

That shift in perspective didn't just help him adjust; it ignited his breakout.

After playing a rotational role in 2024, primarily in third-down packages, Howell made it his mission to force his way into every-down action. In 2025, that work paid off.

He's now the engine behind an elite Aggie defense and a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks.

"This 2025 season, the game has totally slowed down for me," Howell said. "I understand my role within the scheme of our defense. I'm trying to do my one-of-11 on every single play. I'm playing with a ton of confidence right now."

Confidence. Clarity. Relentlessness.

That mindset shift - paired with a laser focus on this being his final college season - lit the fire.

"This past offseason, I had a pretty good idea this was going to be my last year," Howell added. "That definitely added some urgency to my success."

The result? A force on the edge who's blowing up mock drafts and anchoring one of the most aggressive defenses in the nation.

From under-the-radar MAC transfer to SEC wrecking ball, Howell's rise has been fueled by patience, preparation, and pure grit. If you're looking for a Day 1 NFL impact player, Howell's tape speaks louder than any stat sheet.

And the scariest part? He's not done yet.
