Texas A&M heads to LSU after a big win over Kentucky as Rylan Griffen and Rashaun Agee lead the Aggies in a key SEC showdown.

Texas A&M basketball heads to Baton Rouge Saturday night looking to keep its SEC momentum alive, as the Aggies face LSU in a pivotal late-season conference matchup.

After an impressive 96-85 win over Kentucky, Buzz Williams’ squad hopes to build consistency with March rapidly approaching.

The Aggies enter the game 20-10 overall and 10-7 in SEC play, positioning themselves as a dangerous team heading toward the postseason. LSU, meanwhile, has struggled to find footing in conference action, sitting at 15-15 overall and just 3-14 in the SEC.

But playing in Baton Rouge is rarely simple.

The Tigers have been solid on their home floor, compiling a 9-7 record at home while averaging 81.1 points per game.

LSU’s offense is powered by Max Mackinnon, who averages 15.1 points per game while knocking down 39.1 percent of his shots from 3-point range. Forward Marquel Sutton has also stepped up recently, scoring 12.6 points per game over his last 10 contests.

Still, Texas A&M enters the matchup with plenty of offensive weapons of its own.

The Aggies lead the SEC in assists per game (18.6), showcasing a ball movement-heavy attack that has made them difficult to defend.

Jacari Lane, who averages 3.3 assists, helps drive that offense, while Rashaun Agee continues to anchor the frontcourt with 14.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.

Texas A&M’s perimeter shooting has also been a major factor this season. The Aggies average 10.9 made 3-pointers per game, a number that could create problems for an LSU defense that allows 8.2 triples per game.

The two teams already met once this season in College Station, where the Aggies escaped with a 75-72 victory behind Agee’s 15-point performance.

This time, the stakes feel even bigger.

Texas A&M is fighting to solidify its postseason resume, while LSU is trying to salvage pride in a tough SEC campaign.

If the Aggies can replicate the balanced scoring and ball movement they showed against Kentucky, they could leave Baton Rouge with another critical conference win.
