Opening Day has arrived in Aggieland. No. 25 Texas A&M baseball launches its 2026 season Friday night at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park, hosting Tennessee Tech in a three-game weekend series.
First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, followed by a 2 p.m. matchup Saturday and a Sunday finale at noon. All three games stream on SEC Network+.
The season opener carries plenty of history. This marks the 124th year of Texas A&M baseball and the 21st consecutive season the Aggies have opened at home.
The Maroon & White are 86-32-5 all-time on Opening Day and an impressive 36-4 when beginning the year in College Station. Since 2014, they’ve captured 11 of their last 12 home openers, a testament to the early-season edge inside Blue Bell Park.
Texas A&M will roll out a veteran weekend rotation, starting with Shane Sdao on Friday night. Weston Moss takes the ball Saturday, while Aiden Sims is slated to close the series Sunday.
The Aggies have dominated Opening Weekend in recent years, winning 16 of their last 17 series to begin a season, 15 of those by sweep. Another clean weekend would make it five straight Opening Weekend sweeps.
The 2026 roster is loaded with star power.
Chris Hacopian and Caden Sorrell earned Preseason All-America honors from multiple outlets and were named to the Golden Spikes Award watch list. Gavin Grahovac and Sdao also received All-America recognition, while Grahovac and Sorrell landed on the Preseason All-SEC First Team. Right-handed reliever Clayton Freshcorn was selected to the Second Team.
With national rankings, elite arms and a deep lineup, Texas A&M baseball enters the 2026 season aiming to build momentum early ... and protect its home field once again.
