After Texas A&M’s 11-win season and CFP debut, strength coach Tommy Moffitt earns 2026 Power 4 Strength Coach of the Year honors.

Texas A&M’s rise to 11 wins and its first-ever College Football Playoff appearance wasn’t built only on Saturdays. It started long before kickoff - inside the weight room.

On Wednesday, Inside the League (ITL) named Texas A&M Director of Football Strength & Conditioning Tommy Moffitt the 2026 Power 4 Strength Coach of the Year.

The award recognizes the strength coach who demonstrates elite professionalism while supporting NFL scouts and personnel departments throughout the evaluation process.

Moffitt’s fingerprints were all over a season that saw the Aggies finish inside the top 10 and send a program-record 13 players to the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine.

That number alone speaks volumes. Development matters. Durability matters. Explosiveness matters. And NFL scouts clearly saw it.

Players have long credited Moffitt for setting the standard during offseason workouts. The phrase “run through a wall” isn’t cliche around the Bright Complex - it’s culture.

Under head coach Mike Elko, Texas A&M has emphasized physicality, conditioning and accountability. Moffitt is the engine behind that mentality.

The Combine invites highlight how far the program has come. Thirteen Aggies earning NFL Combine invitations signals strength, speed and measurable growth, exactly what pro evaluators look for.

Inside the League, founded by Neil Stratton, has deep roots in the NFL scouting and agent community, making this recognition particularly meaningful.

ITL’s daily industry coverage and scouting network give it a unique vantage point on which college programs are truly preparing players for the next level.

With Elko’s new contract including incentives for staff continuity, Aggie fans are hoping Moffitt stays planted in College Station.

Because if 11 wins and a CFP appearance were just the beginning, the foundation is already solid ... and it’s built in the weight room.
