The Texas A&M Aggies enjoyed tremendous success on the gridiron this past season, winning 11 games and earning a berth in the College Football Playoff.
With gridiron success comes availability, as in making oneself available for the NFL Draft. Junior receiver KC Concepcion has announced his intention to turn pro, leaving a huge void on the offense that must be filled.
Concepcion led the Aggies with 61 catches for 919 yards and nine touchdowns. He also added two scores via punt returns and scored a rushing touchdown.
For the season, Concepcion posted 1,450 all-purpose yards and earned first-team All-SEC honors. He's ranked as the No. 6 receiver in the 2026 draft by ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr.
According to a recent ESPN mock draft, Concepcion is projected to go in the first-round, No. 21 overall, to the Steelers.
In the “me movement” that is the transfer portal, there are viable prospects who could replace Concepcion. Here are four receiver candidates that can help the Aggies now:
Coleman presents a big target at 6-3, 201 pounds. With the Tigers, Coleman hauled in 56 passes for 708 yards and five touchdowns. Coleman posted a season-high 10 catches for 143 yards and a touchdown in a loss to Vanderbilt.
Simmons posted 25 catches for 457 yards and two touchdowns as the counterpart to Coleman. In addition, he added a rushing touchdown. Both receiving scores came in the final two games of the season. In those games, Simmons combined for eight catches for 292 yards, including three catches for 143 yards in the Iron Bowl loss to Alabama.
Horton’s eight receiving touchdowns led the team. At 6-4, 208 pounds, Horton caught 42 passes for 511 yards. Against Auburn, Horton scored a season-high three receiving touchdowns in a 27-20 victory.
A native of Silsbee, Texas, Miller possesses versatility that was underutilized by Coach Prime Deion Sanders at Colorado. Miller, 6-1, 200 pounds, put stress on opposing defenses as a receiver and in the running game. As a receiver, Miller posted 20 catches for 158 yards and a touchdown. In addition, Miller carried the football 46 times for 134 yards and a score. Miller will visit with coach Mike Elko and the Aggies this weekend.
Elko needs a solid 1A receiver to pair with returning star Mario Craver. Any of these portal prospects could fit that bill and close the offensive breach left behind by Concepcion’s NFL draft declaration.
