Texas A&M captain Taurean York is signing with Denver after going undrafted, giving the Broncos one of the top UDFA linebackers available.
Texas A&M linebacker Taurean York didn’t get picked in the 2026 NFL Draft, but the Denver Broncos may have landed one of the better undrafted steals of the weekend.
York is signing with Denver as an undrafted free agent after a surprising fall out of the draft.

The former Aggies captain was viewed by many as a draftable prospect, with USA Today’s pre-draft board ranking him No. 161 overall. After the draft, he was listed as the fourth-best undrafted free agent available.
What York brings to Denver is easy to understand. He’s smart, tough and trusted. At Texas A&M, he became one of the defense’s most important voices, serving as a team captain as both a sophomore and junior.
Coaches leaned on him to get the front aligned, communicate calls and keep the Aggies organized before the snap.
On the field, York plays with the kind of speed and awareness that can translate quickly. He covers ground well, diagnoses plays fast and finishes tackles with urgency.
His instincts helped him play like an on-field coach, which should give him a chance to make an early impression in training camp.
The biggest question is size. York is listed at 5-foot-11 and 226 pounds, which is smaller than the typical NFL inside linebacker.
That may be why teams passed during the draft, even though his college tape showed a player who handled traffic, fought through blocks and held up against the run.

For the Broncos, this is exactly the type of post-draft swing worth taking. York may not have ideal measurables, but leadership, intelligence and tackling ability matter.
If he proves his size won’t limit him on Sundays, Denver could have found real value after the draft ended.
