Former Texas A&M forward Andersson Garcia made an efficient Utah Jazz return, drilling two 3-pointers while showing why his NBA stock keeps climbing.
Former Texas A&M forward Andersson Garcia didn’t need many minutes to remind the Utah Jazz what he can bring to an NBA roster.
After initially joining the Golden State Warriors’ summer league group, Garcia resurfaced Thursday with the organization that handed him his first NBA opportunity.
He immediately made the reunion count, scoring six points while connecting on both of his 3-point attempts during 14 productive minutes off the bench.
Garcia also finished with two rebounds and two assists, giving Utah another glimpse of the versatility that has fueled his professional rise.
The offensive efficiency was encouraging, but Garcia’s value has never been limited to the scoring column. His rebounding, physicality and constant energy helped him stand out during his first G League season, when he averaged 11.5 points and 10.7 rebounds per game.
That production eventually earned him a promotion to the Jazz during the 2025-26 season.
Garcia appeared in five NBA games and didn’t look overwhelmed by the jump.
He averaged 5.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 0.8 blocks, posting impressive numbers despite working with a limited sample of minutes.
Those performances showed exactly why Utah remains interested.
Garcia isn’t the kind of developmental player who needs the offense designed around him. He can impact games by attacking the glass, defending multiple spots, moving the ball and creating extra possessions.
Add the possibility of a reliable outside shot, and his path toward an NBA rotation becomes much easier to imagine.
Thursday’s two 3-pointers won’t guarantee him a roster spot, but they were another strong entry on a resume built around doing the dirty work.
For Garcia, every summer league appearance is an audition. His latest one offered another reminder that he belongs in the conversation.
The Jazz gave Garcia his first NBA chance. Now he’s working to make sure they give him another.
