Ex Aggies Hoops Standout Receives Top 100 Overall Rating in New NBA 2K

Alex Caruso has built a career around doing the little things that do not always show up in the box score, and NBA 2K27 continues to recognize just how valuable those contributions can be.

The former Texas A&M standout enters NBA 2K27 with an 81 overall rating, according to the game's official Top 100 player ratings. That puts Caruso among the 100 highest-rated players in the game and gives him the second-highest launch rating of his NBA 2K career.

The only time Caruso has entered an NBA 2K game with a higher rating came in NBA 2K25, when he was given an 82 overall to begin the game. The 81 rating in NBA 2K27 therefore represents just a one-point drop from his career-best launch mark.

For Caruso, an overall rating does not necessarily tell the entire story.

The 6-5 guard has made his name as one of the league's premier defensive-minded guards, consistently making an impact with his ability to pressure the ball, generate steals, and make smart plays without the rock.

That defensive value has translated to his video game ratings as well. Caruso's combination of defensive ability, athleticism, and versatility has long made him a popular player for NBA 2K users looking for a reliable two-way guard.

His motion style was also highlighted as one of the better options for guards and wings in NBA 2K26 for their MyPlayer, further showing how his in-game attributes can make him useful beyond his overall rating.

Caruso's connection to Texas A&M makes the rating especially noteworthy for Aggies fans. Before becoming an NBA champion and one of the league's most respected role players, Caruso spent four seasons in College Station.

He finished his Aggie career averaging 8.0 points, 4.7 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game while establishing himself as a defensive standout.

Now entering another NBA season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Caruso remains one of the game's more recognizable role players.

His 81 overall rating in NBA 2K27 may not put him alongside the league's biggest stars, but it reflects the value he brings as a versatile defender, playmaker, and veteran presence.

Considering his 82 overall launch rating in NBA 2K25 remains his career high, an 81 rating in NBA 2K27 is another strong showing for the former Aggie.
