De’Von Achane has not gotten off to the kind of start fantasy football managers hoped for in 2026, but that could create an opportunity for those willing to look past the early results.
The former Texas A&M star was identified as a buy-low candidate ahead of Week 3 in a recent piece by Mark-Morales Smith of Yahoo Sports.
Achane isn't off to the best start, but it hasn't been as bad as it feels either. The volume has also been there," Smith writes.
"While the Dolphins' offense is going to be bad all season, we do expect it to get better. The touchdowns aren't going to be there, but that's not what you draft Achane for. He's going to get up around 275 carries and 100 targets this season. That's enough to give him a ton of value that you should be targeting."
Achane has not produced at the level many expected through the first two games, but the most encouraging part of his start has been his involvement in Miami's offense. He has already received 31 carries while also being targeted 11 times in the passing game.
That kind of workload is difficult to ignore, particularly with a player who has consistently demonstrated the ability to create explosive plays.
Even without an abundance of touchdowns, the type of usage Achane should get would give the running back plenty of opportunities to rack up fantasy points.
