The Texas A&M Aggies continue to make noise in the NFL as former standout Micheal Clemons has secured a new opportunity with the Indianapolis Colts.
The defensive lineman has reportedly agreed to a three-year, $17.5 million contract, with incentives that could push the total value even higher.
For Clemons, the move marks a fresh chapter after spending the first four seasons of his professional career with the New York Jets.
The former Texas A&M defensive end appeared in 65 games during his time in New York, making 24 starts while establishing himself as a physical and versatile defensive front player.
Though Clemons wasn’t always a full-time starter, his presence was consistently felt.
The 28-year-old defender compiled 119 total tackles, 8.5 sacks, 20 quarterback hits, and two forced fumbles during his time with the Jets. He also added two passes defended, showing his ability to disrupt plays at the line of scrimmage.
Last season, Clemons started just six games but remained heavily involved in the Jets’ defensive rotation, playing 55 percent of the defensive snaps, slightly more than the previous year when he started all 17 games for New York.
That level of usage highlights the trust coaches had in his ability to contribute even while sharing the field with other talented pass rushers.
Now Clemons joins a Colts defense that is actively reshaping its defensive line.
Indianapolis recently added Derrick Nnadi as well, signaling a clear emphasis on rebuilding the front after losing pass rusher Kwity Paye earlier in the offseason.
For Texas A&M fans, Clemons’ continued NFL success is another reminder of the program’s growing reputation for producing defensive talent.
The Aggies have consistently sent tough, physical defenders to the league, and Clemons fits that mold perfectly.
With a new contract and a fresh opportunity in Indianapolis, the former Aggie now has the chance to take the next step in his career and become an even bigger force on Sundays.
