Both teams fight to snap losing streaks as the struggling Aggies defend Kyle Field against a hungry Razorbacks squad in a high-stakes clash on the national stage.
Texas A&M will return to Kyle Field on Saturday night looking to get its season back on track when the Aggies welcome Arkansas for an important SEC matchup.
The Aggies enter the contest at 2-2 overall and 0-2 in SEC play after dropping consecutive conference games to Kentucky and LSU. Arkansas also sits at 2-2, while the Razorbacks are 0-1 in conference play heading into the matchup.
For Texas A&M, the game provides an opportunity to put its recent struggles behind it and regain some momentum in front of the 12th Man.
Saturday's game will mark the 83rd meeting between Texas A&M and Arkansas. It will also be just the third time the programs have met in College Station since the Aggies joined the SEC. Texas A&M has won the last four meetings, including a 45-42 victory in Fayetteville last season.
The Razorbacks still hold the edge in the all-time series, however, with a 42-37-3 record against the Aggies entering Saturday's contest.
Texas A&M Looks to Bounce Back
The Aggies' season took a turn after a dominant opening that saw them defeat Missouri State and Arizona State by a combined 98-20. Texas A&M then suffered a 31-21 home loss to Kentucky before falling 35-6 to LSU in Baton Rouge last weekend.
That stretch has put additional importance on Saturday's matchup. Texas A&M will have the benefit of returning home, where the Aggies opened the season with two convincing victories.
Quarterback Marcel Reed and the offense will be looking to find a rhythm after struggling to generate much production against LSU. The Aggies will also have to account for injuries, with wide receiver Mario Craver listed as questionable and Terry Bussey ruled out.
Another SEC Test Awaits
Arkansas comes into College Station searching for its first SEC victory of the season. The Razorbacks have faced difficult competition early in conference play, including a 45-17 loss to Georgia. Quarterback KJ Jackson has completed 62.1% of his passes for 927 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions this season.
With both teams looking to end difficult stretches, Saturday's matchup carries plenty of significance. Texas A&M will try to take advantage of its return to Kyle Field and earn its fifth consecutive victory over Arkansas.
