Texas A&M’s aggressive work in the NCAA Transfer Portal paid off again with the addition of former Alabama wide receiver Isaiah Horton, a move that signals the Aggies are serious about building on last season’s historic breakthrough.
Horton arrives in College Station after a productive lone season at Alabama Crimson Tide, where he appeared in all 15 games, started 11, and finished with 42 receptions for 511 yards and a team-high eight touchdowns. That touchdown total immediately stands out in a loaded Alabama offense and was a major point of emphasis on the latest episode of The Texas A&M Aggies Daily Blitz Podcast.
Podcast host Timm Hamm, better known as IndyCarTim, called Horton’s production a defining trait rather than a footnote.
“If you’re leading Alabama in touchdown catches, that tells you everything you need to know,” Hamm said. “That’s trust. That’s being the guy they want the ball going to when it matters most.”
Before his stint in Tuscaloosa, Horton spent three seasons at Miami, where he steadily developed into a reliable target. His best year came in 2024, when he posted career highs of 56 catches, 616 yards, and five touchdowns. The combination of ACC and SEC experience makes him one of the most battle-tested receivers Texas A&M has added via the portal in recent years.
Hamm emphasized that Horton’s value goes beyond raw yardage totals.
“Touchdowns translate. Red-zone reliability translates,” Hamm said. “This is a receiver who has already proven he can finish drives against elite competition.”
Horton’s commitment comes as Texas A&M looks to take another step forward after an 11–2 season that included the program’s first-ever College Football Playoff appearance. Though the Aggies fell short in their final two games, head coach Mike Elko made it clear the foundation has been set.
“There’s still another major step we have to take as a program to finish,” Elko said following the CFP loss.
According to Hamm, Horton fits directly into that vision.
“This isn’t about rebuilding anymore,” Hamm said. “This is about upgrading. Isaiah Horton gives A&M a proven SEC touchdown-maker who can make an immediate impact.”
With Horton now in the fold, Texas A&M’s 2026 offense gains a receiver capable of changing games in high-leverage moments—exactly the type of addition needed for a team aiming to turn momentum into championships.
