Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko continues to quietly reshape the Aggies’ offensive infrastructure, adding a respected Air Raid voice to the staff ahead of the 2026 season.
According to TexAgs, Coastal Carolina offensive coordinator Drew Hollingshead is joining the program as an offensive analyst, bringing SEC familiarity and a proven quarterback background to College Station.
Hollingshead arrives with a body of work rooted in high-tempo, quarterback-friendly systems.
Before spending last season at Coastal Carolina, he served as co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Western Kentucky, where his offense ranked second in Conference USA in scoring at 30.5 points per game. That production helped keep the Hilltoppers among the league’s most dangerous attacks, particularly through the air.
His coaching DNA traces back to the late Mike Leach, one of college football’s most influential offensive minds.
Hollingshead previously worked under Leach at both Washington State and Mississippi State, gaining firsthand experience in Air Raid principles that emphasize spacing, rhythm, and decision-making at quarterback.
That background now adds another layer of creativity and experience to Elko’s offensive support staff.
The hire comes during a transitional offseason for Texas A&M. With offensive coordinator Collin Klein and defensive coordinator Jay Bateman departing, Elko opted for continuity by promoting Holmon Wiggins and Lyle Hemphill internally.
Adding Hollingshead as an analyst helps address another key need without disrupting the program’s overall structure.
Hollingshead will have no shortage of talent to work with in 2026.
Wide receivers Mario Craver and Ashton Bethel-Roman return after emerging as two of the most explosive playmakers in the country, while quarterback Marcel Reed’s return provides stability at the most important position on the field.
As Texas A&M looks to build on one of the most memorable seasons in program history, this addition signals a commitment to innovation, experience, and maximizing an already dangerous offensive core.
