Former Texas A&M figures Dan Campbell, Aaron Glenn and Klint Kubiak all won in NFL Week 1, giving the Aggies a perfect start among head coaches.

Texas A&M’s NFL influence was impossible to miss in Week 1, and this time the biggest Aggie impact came from the sidelines.

Former A&M players Dan Campbell and Aaron Glenn, along with former Aggies assistant Klint Kubiak, each opened the 2026 NFL season with a victory as head coaches. The three wins looked nothing alike, but together they gave Texas A&M ties a perfect 3-0 start.

Kubiak delivered perhaps the most significant result, earning his first career regular-season victory as an NFL head coach when the Las Vegas Raiders beat the Miami Dolphins 27-13.

Las Vegas controlled the game behind veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins and running back Ashton Jeanty. The Raiders held the football for nearly 35 minutes, while their defense registered five sacks and limited Miami to two conversions on 10 third-down attempts.

Jeanty was particularly effective, producing 147 yards from scrimmage and scoring twice.

For Kubiak, who began his coaching career at Texas A&M under Mike Sherman and later earned a master’s degree from the school, it was an impressive first step in Las Vegas.

Glenn’s Jets were even more dominant.

New York beat Tennessee 23-10 while outgaining the Titans 367-195 and possessing the football for 38 minutes, 46 seconds. Breece Hall rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown, while the Jets defense held Tennessee out of the end zone until late in the fourth quarter.

Glenn starred at cornerback for Texas A&M before becoming a first-round NFL Draft selection and eventually moving into coaching.

Campbell had considerably more drama.

Detroit built a 21-0 advantage against New Orleans before watching the Saints force overtime. The Lions eventually escaped with a 31-30 victory after New Orleans failed on a two-point conversion following an overtime touchdown.

Jahmyr Gibbs powered Detroit with a career-high 156 rushing yards and two touchdowns while adding five catches for 30 yards. Jared Goff connected with Amon-Ra St. Brown for Detroit’s overtime touchdown.

Campbell played at Texas A&M from 1995 through 1998 and was a team captain as a senior.

Three coaches. Three very different games.

And three wins.

With Campbell, Glenn and Kubiak all starting 1-0, Texas A&M’s presence in the NFL extends well beyond the former Aggies wearing helmets on Sundays.
