No. 12 Texas A&M closes the regular season against No. 1 Oklahoma, powered by Mya Perez and one of the SEC’s top offenses.

Texas A&M softball enters the final weekend of the regular season with a massive test ahead, hosting No. 1 Oklahoma in a three-game series at Davis Diamond.

The No. 12 Aggies (35-14, 15-6 SEC) have been one of the most consistent teams in the conference, and now they’ll get a measuring-stick matchup against the top-ranked Sooners (46-6, 18-3 SEC).

It’s a series loaded with postseason implications and momentum heading into SEC tournament play.

Texas A&M has built its success on balance. The Aggies rank among the nation’s best offensively, sitting seventh in on-base percentage (.450) and inside the top 20 in both batting average (.346) and slugging (.581).

Mya Perez has been the engine, posting a staggering .621 on-base percentage, second-best in the country, while also earning a spot as a USA Softball Player of the Year Top 25 finalist.

Micaela Wark adds power to the lineup with 23 home runs and 63 RBI, both among the top 25 nationally.

In conference play, Kennedy Powell has been a key contributor as well, leading the SEC with 31 hits and ranking among the league leaders in doubles.

Inside the circle, the Aggies have been just as steady. Their pitching staff ranks 11th nationally in strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.93) and 17th in WHIP (1.22), giving them a reliable foundation against elite competition.

Davis Diamond has also been a major advantage. Texas A&M is 20-3 at home this season and owns a .768 winning percentage since the facility opened in 2018.

Oklahoma brings its usual firepower, but the Aggies have quietly stacked wins, including a perfect record in home SEC series play this year.

With a packed weekend crowd expected and national coverage on SEC Network and ESPN2, this series feels like a postseason preview—and a chance for Texas A&M to make a statement.
