Texas A&M golfer Vanessa Borovilos earned a spot on the WGCA Player of the Year Watch List after a dominant 2026 season.
Texas A&M women’s golf star Vanessa Borovilos is officially in the national spotlight heading into postseason play.
The Aggies standout was named Thursday to the WGCA Player of the Year Watch List, placing her among the top names in college golf as the NCAA Championships approach later this month in Carlsbad, California.
Borovilos has built one of the strongest resumes in women’s college golf during the 2026 season.
The Texas A&M junior enters postseason competition ranked No. 11 in the Scoreboard national rankings while also sitting No. 21 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
Her consistency has been impossible to ignore.
Borovilos posted three runner-up finishes this season, including back-to-back second-place performances at the SEC Championship and the “Mo” Morial Invitational.
She also captured an individual title earlier this year at the Moon Golf Invitational, further cementing herself as one of the SEC’s elite players.
That strong season helped earn Borovilos All-SEC First Team honors and continued a breakout run that has elevated both her national profile and Texas A&M’s postseason expectations.
The Canadian golfer also delivered one of the most impressive moments in amateur golf over the last year.
During the 2025 U.S. Women’s Amateur, Borovilos fired a stunning 9-under 63, setting the tournament record for the lowest single round in championship history.
She followed that performance with another high-profile showing this spring, tying for 11th at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur against one of the deepest fields in amateur golf.
Now, Borovilos and the Aggies turn their focus toward the NCAA postseason. Texas A&M will compete in the Waco Regional at Ridgewood Country Club from May 11-13, with hopes of advancing to the NCAA Championships later this month.
The WGCA Player of the Year Watch List includes just 12 golfers nationwide, featuring stars from programs like Stanford, USC, Duke, Texas and Florida.
Borovilos has already proven she belongs in that company. The next few weeks could determine whether she finishes the season as the best player in college golf.
