Drawing from the Corps of Cadets' heritage, the Aggies debut desert camouflage to celebrate the university’s 150th anniversary during a high-stakes homecoming clash against the Razorbacks.
Texas A&M's traditional maroon and white look is taking a back seat for one of the Aggies' biggest home games of the season.
And the replacement certainly won't be difficult to recognize.
Texas A&M officially unveiled its new "Honor and Support" uniforms Friday, revealing a desert camouflage look the Aggies will wear when Arkansas visits Kyle Field on Oct. 3.
"Built for battle and ready for the call," the program wrote alongside its official reveal.
The alternate look is far from being camouflage for camouflage's sake.
According to Texas A&M, the design draws inspiration from the khaki uniforms worn by the Corps of Cadets, along with the dried grasslands and rolling hills of Aggieland. Photos of the uniform can be found below:
The details go even further.
A university identification stencil pays homage to Texas A&M's military heritage, while a patch incorporates the star and laurel leaf found on the Aggie Ring. Even the patch's circular design carries meaning, serving as a tribute to the wheels of the Spirit of '02 field gun.
Texas A&M safety Marcus Ratcliffe modeled the new look in the Aggies' reveal.
And the timing of their debut is just as intentional as the uniforms themselves.
The Oct. 3 matchup against Arkansas will serve as Texas A&M's celebration of the university's 150th anniversary, giving the Aggies an opportunity to connect their dramatically different look to more than a century of school history.
It'll also bring the rivalry back to Kyle Field.
Texas A&M and Arkansas spent most of the last decade meeting at AT&T Stadium as part of the Southwest Classic before the series returned to campus last season. The Aggies traveled to Fayetteville in 2025 and escaped with a 45-42 victory, extending their winning streak over the Razorbacks to four games.
Now Arkansas gets its turn making the trip to College Station.
The Aggies have certainly experimented with alternate looks before, including black uniforms and throwback combinations in recent seasons.
This one, though, will be difficult to confuse with any of them.
When Arkansas arrives at Kyle Field on Oct. 3 for a rivalry matchup doubling as Texas A&M's 150th-anniversary celebration, the Aggies will have an entirely different look waiting for them.
Mike Elko and company are set to host Missouri State on Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. to officially begin the Aggies' 2026 season.
