Texas A&M faces Alabama on Oct. 24 in a nationally televised SEC showdown on ABC, with the struggling Aggies looking to end their road woes in Tuscaloosa.

Texas A&M's upcoming road showdown against Alabama officially has a kickoff time, and the Aggies will have a national television audience watching as they try to revive a disappointing SEC season.

The Southeastern Conference announced Monday that Texas A&M will face Alabama on Saturday, October 24, at 2:30 p.m. Central on ABC. The game will be played at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, where the Aggies have historically struggled.

It's another high-profile opportunity for head coach Mike Elko, whose team has dropped three of its last four games after opening the season with consecutive victories.

Texas A&M enters the week at 3-3 overall and 1-3 in SEC competition, with its conference championship hopes fading following Saturday's 27-6 loss at Missouri.

The Aggies' offensive struggles have become particularly concerning.

Quarterback Marcel Reed and the Texas A&M offense have managed just 12 combined points in their two road losses this season, falling 35-6 at LSU before suffering another 21-point defeat against Missouri.

Those performances raise serious questions about the Aggies' ability to compete against Alabama's defense, especially in one of college football's most intimidating environments.

The Crimson Tide, meanwhile, enters the week at 5-1 overall and 3-1 in SEC play following a narrow 20-17 home loss to Georgia.

Alabama will visit Tennessee on Saturday before turning its attention to Texas A&M.

The Aggies have a considerably different assignment this weekend, hosting The Citadel at Kyle Field on Saturday, October 17. Kickoff is scheduled for noon Central, with streaming coverage on SEC Network+.

A victory over the Bulldogs would give Texas A&M some much-needed momentum before its trip to Tuscaloosa.

History, however, doesn't favor the Aggies.

Alabama leads the all-time series 13-3 and has won the last two meetings. Texas A&M's only victory in Tuscaloosa came in 2012, when Johnny Manziel engineered a memorable 29-24 upset that helped launch his Heisman Trophy-winning season.

The Aggies also defeated Alabama 41-38 in College Station in 2021, one of the program's most celebrated victories of the past decade.

Recent meetings have been competitive despite Alabama's overall dominance.

The last three games between the programs were decided by eight points or fewer, including Alabama's 24-20 victory during Texas A&M's most recent trip to Tuscaloosa in 2022.

For Elko, the upcoming matchup presents an opportunity to change the narrative surrounding his team.

But before the Aggies can worry about upsetting Alabama, they must address the offensive problems that have plagued their SEC schedule.

Another six-point performance in Tuscaloosa almost certainly won't be enough.
