College Station appears to be stacking blue chips in the trenches.
Texas A&M’s 2027 recruiting class is quietly building momentum toward a potential No. 1 overall ranking, and offensive line coach Adam Cushing is right at the center of it.
After hauling in six offensive line signees in the 2025 class and adding four SEC-caliber starters through the transfer portal, Cushing has made one thing clear that if you want to win in the SEC, you start up front.
Now the Aggies are pushing hard for five-star offensive lineman Ismael Camara, and this one feels real.
Camara, a 6-5, 300-plus-pound mauler from Gilmer High School, has played just 12 varsity games but already holds more than 40 scholarship offers.
According to Rivals, he sits as the No. 32 overall prospect in the country and the No. 3 interior offensive lineman in the 2027 cycle. That’s elite company.
Texas and Oregon are firmly in the race, but Texas A&M has positioned itself as more than just another option.
“Man, that’s just all family. I can’t say enough about them… it just feels like home every time I go down there,” Camara said recently.
That’s the tone Elko’s staff is pushing ... culture, development and long-term growth. Camara also highlighted Cushing specifically, saying the Aggies’ O-line coach is “just different than everybody else” when it comes to developing talent.
And development matters. Cushing is about to face a proving ground this fall after five veteran offensive linemen moved on to the 2026 NFL Draft.
Both guard spots are open entering camp, while transfers Tyree Adams and Wilkin Formby are expected to anchor the tackle positions. If that rebuilt unit holds up in SEC play, it becomes a living recruiting pitch.
Because elite offensive linemen pay attention to who gets drafted.
In the 2026 signing class, A&M already added three more linemen, including four-star guard Samuel Roseborough, who flipped the script by choosing the Aggies over Texas.
Now Camara could be the next statement piece.
He’s scheduled to take his official visit to Texas A&M on May 28, a date that looms large in this recruitment.
If Elko and Cushing close the deal, the Aggies won’t just be building depth. They’ll be building dominance.
