Previewing the top-10 matchup between the Texas Longhorns and Georgia Bulldogs in Week 12.

The No. 10-ranked Texas Longhorns (7-2, 4-1 SEC) travel to Athens, Georgia to face the reigning conference champs in the No. 5-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (8-1, 6-1 SEC) - a rematch of that conference championship bout in which Georgia beat Texas 22-19 to hold the Longhorns from taking the SEC crown in their inaugural season in the league.

This year, Texas still finds themselves in the hunt for a potential berth in the conference title game if they can win out ... and there may still be an avenue to make the College Football Playoff for the third consecutive year no matter what. But with another top-five opponent waiting after Thanksgiving in Texas A&M, the Longhorns will need to use this battle as a steppingstone toward the regular-season finale.

For the Bulldogs, this defense isn't what it once was, but that doesn't mean it isn't still a force to be reckoned with. Offensively, this is a unit that's scored over 40 points in two of the last three games in the midst of a five-game win streak. Their lone loss, actually at home at Sanford Stadium, came in a one-score slugfest with fellow top-five ranked Alabama. However, they still have a path to the Playoff if they can take care of Charlotte and No. 16 Georgia Tech to close out the season.

We get you set for just the second top-10 matchup of the last month here between the Longhorns and the Bulldogs:

    Last Time Out

Texas got their most recent win in resounding fashion, defeating No. 9 Vanderbilt in Austin last week, 34-31, to build upon a four-game win streak. Quarterback Arch Manning looked composed with 328 passing yards on over 75 percent completion with three touchdowns.

Georgia ran away with a 41-21 win over Mississippi State a week ago. Quarterback Gunner Stockton had three touchdowns on 264 yards passing, but it was the 314 punishing yards rushing that carried the team. Nate Frazier piled 181 yards on the ground - far and away a career-high.
