Swain and Vokietaitis ignite Texas' offense, powering a dominant second-half surge to secure their fourth consecutive SEC victory.

Texas basketball is heating up at exactly the right time.

Behind a dominant second half and standout performances from Dailyn Swain and Matas Vokietaitis, the Longhorns rolled past Missouri 85-68 on Saturday night at Mizzou Arena.

The victory pushed Texas to 16-9 overall and 7-5 in SEC play, marking the program’s first four-game regular-season conference winning streak since the 2020-21 campaign.

After a tightly contested first half that featured 10 lead changes and seven ties, Texas seized control after the break.

Junior guard/forward Dailyn Swain erupted for 25 points, pouring in 18 after halftime. He finished 9-of-16 from the field and a perfect 4-of-4 at the free-throw line, while adding six rebounds, two assists and two steals in 37 minutes. His 3-pointer mid-way through the second half helped ignite a decisive run that gave Texas breathing room.

Vokietaitis anchored the paint with one of his most complete outings of the season.

The sophomore center recorded 19 points and a game-high 10 rebounds for a double-double, including five offensive boards that created extra possessions. He shot 6-of-10 from the floor and 7-of-8 from the stripe while contributing two blocks in 25 minutes.

Jordan Pope chipped in 15 points, knocking down a pair of 3-pointers and going 3-of-4 from the line.

The game flipped in the final 20 minutes. Texas outscored Missouri 52-37 in the second half while shooting a blistering 61.5 percent from the field (16-of-26). The Longhorns were equally sharp at the free-throw line, converting 16-of-17 attempts after halftime and finishing 21-of-23 overall - a season-best 91.3 percent.

Defensively, Texas clamped down. Missouri managed just 38.1 percent shooting in the second half and hit only one of five attempts from beyond the arc during that stretch.

Rebounding also proved pivotal. Texas owned a 36-26 edge on the glass, including a 14-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The Longhorns have now outrebounded 22 of their first 25 opponents this season, underscoring their physical identity under head coach Rodney Terry.

Missouri briefly trimmed the margin to single digits late, but Texas closed on a 10-2 run to silence the crowd of 15,061.

With momentum building, the Longhorns return home to face LSU on Tuesday night at Moody Center, where they’ll look to extend their winning streak and continue climbing the SEC standings.
