Former Texas basketball standouts Jarrett Allen, Kevin Durant and Jaxson Hayes are headed to the 2026 NBA Playoffs with major postseason roles.

Former Texas basketball players will have a strong presence in the 2026 NBA Playoffs, giving Longhorns fans plenty to watch once the postseason tips off.

Jarrett Allen, Kevin Durant and Jaxson Hayes have all secured spots on active playoff rosters, while several players connected to new Texas head coach Sean Miller are also in the postseason mix through the NBA Play-In Tournament and the playoffs.

Kevin Durant headlines the former Longhorns group after a big first season with the Houston Rockets.

The veteran forward played 78 games and averaged 26.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists while shooting 52.0 percent from the field and 41.3 percent from 3-point range.

Houston’s 52-30 finish locked the Rockets into the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference, giving Durant another shot to add to a decorated postseason resume that already includes two NBA titles and two Finals MVP awards.

Jarrett Allen remains a key piece for the Cleveland Cavaliers, who finished 52-30 and earned the No. 4 seed in the East. The former Texas big man averaged 15.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 56 games while shooting 63.8 percent from the floor.

His efficient scoring and interior presence should be crucial for Cleveland’s playoff hopes.

Jaxson Hayes also enters the postseason with momentum after helping the Los Angeles Lakers grab the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference.

Hayes appeared in 66 games and posted 7.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game while converting an impressive 75.6 percent of his shots.

Texas will also be represented on the sidelines. Royal Ivey is part of Houston’s coaching staff, while Matt Hill is on the Charlotte Hornets bench.

Add in seven former Sean Miller players participating in the play-in or playoffs, and the Longhorns’ postseason footprint is bigger than ever this spring.
