The Longhorns eased through Week 1, but now they come up against one of the best teams in college football.

Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns will meet the Ohio State Buckeyes at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium in what is a monster Week 2 matchup.

With the Longhorns taking care of Texas State 59-7 last week, and the Buckeyes dominating Ball State 56-3, this game pits two elite offenses and stout defenses against each other.

This could very well be a playoff preview with both teams at the pointy end of the conversation for the best team in college football.

Manning is coming off a stellar game, going 20 of 27 for 305 yards and 4 TDs along with an interception, while Cam Coleman (3 rec, 70 yards, 2 TDs) and Ryan Wingo (7 rec, 121 yards, 1 TD) were the main destroyers in the passing game.

So look for that trio to be the main instigators for Steve Sarkisian's offense against the Buckeyes.

Defensively, Rasheem Biles, who snagged an interception, will be one to watch for the Longhorns, as will Jalani McDonald and Colin Simmons, as they try to slow down the high-powered Ohio State offense led by Julian Sayin and Jeremiyah Smith (8 rec, 151 yards, 2 TDs last week).

Many see the Longhorns as one of the teams to beat in 2026, but this game against the Buckeyes will truly test what the program is this season under Sarkisian.

Manning, in facing a ferocious defensive front, can he distribute the ball to his playmakers without putting the ball in harm's way? Can Texas get its run game rolling again to ease the offensive burden on Arch?

Defensively, can the Longhorns slow down Sayin and Smith, who loom as perhaps the best QB/WR duo in college football?

There are plenty of storylines to watch in this one, as two of the best teams in football go head-to-head early in the season.
