Texas star linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. impresses the NFL as he makes his move into the pros.
Texas Longhorns linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. made a name for himself in college, and now he's looking to take his talents to the NFL as a newly-minted member of the Titans via pick No. 60 of this NFL Draft.
A star for the Longhorns over his three-year college career, Hill Jr. posted 17.0 sacks, 31.5 tackles for loss, and three interceptions to establish himself as one of the premier linebackers in college football.
Before this NFL Draft, teams got busy filling up their 30-visit slots, and Hill Jr. was a popular guy.
The Minnesota Vikings, the Dallas Cowboys, the Houston Texans, and the New York Giants were among the many clubs who thought of Hill Jr. as being worthy of a premium pick.
And on paper, at 6-3 and 238 pounds, he possesses all the traits that a defensivr coordinator wants in a linebacker.
He's seen as a true three-down linebacker who excels in both top positions (WILL and MIKE), while being a heat-seeking missile when given the chance.
Oh, and he can rush the passer as well.
And you can make the case that every NFL defense had a reason to be after Hill Jr.
A high-energy playmaker, Hill Jr. has all the traits to become a star in the NFL.
The Texas native was named second-team AP All-America in each of the last two years after sharing Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year honors in 2023, and he was a finalist for the Butkus Award in 2025.
Hill, who just turned 21 in February, showed off his traits at the Scouting Combine when he ran his 4.51 time in the 40 at the combine.
He's been a stud since ... well, forever; he was a high school All-American and was rated the top inside linebacker in all of Texas as a senior at Denton Ryan.
And now?
Of course, nothing is a given, but the stud linebacker should be a welcome addition to his the XXXX.
