The Longhorns suffered their first loss of the season against Oklahoma last week, and now attention turns to the Gators.

The Texas Longhorns have had to pick themselves up off the canvas after last week's loss to the Oklahoma Sooners, and now have a tricky test against the Florida Gators at Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium.

The Longhorns would have been crushed for how they lost last week to the Sooners, with there being question marks over Arch Manning and the offense, which promised so much this offseason.

Yes, the Longhorns only have one loss, but you can easily make the case that the offense hasn't put together a good four-quarter performance yet, while the defense has been living up to the hype.

But let's not get it twisted, this is a game that the Longhorns should be winning.

They are at home, and the Gators have an uncertain quarterback position right now. With the offensive line and run game showing us at times how dominant they can be, this is the ideal time for it all to come together.

But then again, we've thought that multiple times this season, and all Steve Sarkisian's team does is beat itself with silly penalties and self-inflicted wounds that produce another inconsistent performance on offense.

So how Texas bounces back against the 4-2 Gators is going to be a fascinating watch, because we feel like we have been waiting for Arch and the offense to take that next step, because they do have the weapons to do so.

But for whatever reason, it's been disjointed and against a Gators defense that has given up at least 28 points in each of its last four games; this feels like a get-right game for the Longhorns.

Plus, the Florida offense hasn't scored more than 20 points in each of its last two games, so it gives up points and struggles to score, which is a recipe that the Longhorns should be able to exploit.

Let's see if they can.
