Swain, the Longhorns’ do-it-all star and one of the biggest risers of the Sean Miller era, is expected to hear his name called next week when the NBA Draft takes over Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
And it may happen early.
Swain reportedly earned a green room invitation, which doesn’t officially guarantee a first-round selection, but let’s be real - the league usually doesn’t waste those seats on long shots.

CBS Sports has Swain projected No. 18 overall to the Charlotte Hornets, a fascinating landing spot that would put him next to LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller and Kon Knueppel.
That’s a young core with scoring, size and upside, and Swain’s playmaking versatility would fit right into the chaos.
His draft case is built on more than hype. Swain led Texas in points, rebounds, assists and steals, giving the Longhorns a rare top option who could impact nearly every possession.
He wasn’t just a scorer. He was the connector, the initiator, the rebounder and the guy Sean Miller could trust when the game got tight.
That’s why the “point forward” label has followed him into the pre-draft process.
Swain has the size to play on the wing, the vision to create offense and the feel to make teammates better. The swing skill is obvious: the three-point shot.
If he becomes a consistent NBA shooter, his ceiling gets a lot more dangerous.
