Texas baseball opens its 2027 SEC schedule at LSU before hosting South Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, Vanderbilt and rival Texas A&M in Austin.
Texas baseball’s road through the 2027 SEC season won’t offer many soft spots.
The Longhorns will open conference play March 19-21 at LSU, launching a 30-game league schedule loaded with College World Series-caliber programs and several of Texas’ biggest rivals.
Jim Schlossnagle’s club then returns to Austin for its SEC home opener against South Carolina from March 26-28 at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
From there, Texas will alternate between challenging road trips and heavyweight home weekends throughout April and May.
The home schedule should produce some of the best atmospheres of the season.
Texas will welcome Tennessee from April 9-11, followed by Arkansas from April 23-25 and Vanderbilt from April 30-May 2.
The marquee home series arrives May 14-16 when Texas A&M visits Austin for the Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown.
The Longhorns will also face a demanding road slate.
After the LSU opener, Texas travels to Alabama from April 2-4, Florida from April 16-18 and Oklahoma from May 7-9. The regular season concludes with a road series at Georgia from May 20-22.
There’s little reason to expect Texas to shy away from that challenge.
Since joining the SEC before the 2025 season, the Longhorns have produced a 41-18 conference record, good for a .695 winning percentage.
That’s the best mark in the league over Texas’ first two seasons as an SEC member.
Schlossnagle has also kept Texas operating on college baseball’s biggest stage. The Longhorns were one of 12 SEC programs to reach the 2026 NCAA Tournament and advanced to the Men’s College World Series for the 39th time, extending their NCAA record for appearances in Omaha.
The 2027 conference schedule will provide another major test of that momentum.
Texas gets LSU, Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma and Georgia away from Austin, while Tennessee, Arkansas, Vanderbilt and Texas A&M all have to come through Disch-Falk Field.
After the regular season, all 16 SEC programs will advance to the SEC Baseball Tournament at Hoover Met Stadium, scheduled for May 25-30.
Television selections could still shift some weekend series to Thursday starts.
But the larger picture is already clear: Texas won’t have to wait long to find out whether it can remain at the top of college baseball’s toughest conference.
