Baseball is officially back on the Forty Acres. The University of Texas will open the gates at UFCU Disch-Falk Field on Saturday, Jan. 31, for its annual Alumni Game and Fan Appreciation Day, giving Longhorn fans a free, up-close preview of the 2026 season.
The event serves as the first public look at Jim Schlossnagle’s reigning SEC champions, a group already generating national buzz. Texas enters the season ranked No. 3 in D1Baseball’s preseason poll, the second-highest preseason placement in program history ... no small feat for a program already rich in tradition.
Gates open at 10:15 a.m., and the morning is designed with fans in mind. From 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., supporters can take part in autograph sessions with the 2026 Texas baseball team, snap photos with Bevo XV, and pose with the 2025 SEC Championship Trophy.
For those eager to stretch their arms, fans will also be allowed to play catch in left field until 11:15 a.m.
Autographs will be limited to official team posters and UFCU pennants provided on-site, and fans are encouraged to arrive early. Lines may be cut off before the session ends to allow the team to prepare for game action.
Once the field clears late in the morning, attention shifts toward baseball. Texas will take batting practice beginning at 12:10 p.m., followed by professional alumni warming up from 1:00 to 1:40 p.m. Alumni introductions are scheduled just before first pitch, which is set for 2:00 p.m.
The Alumni Game has become a favorite annual tradition, blending nostalgia with excitement for what’s ahead.
Former Longhorn greats return to Disch-Falk Field while the current roster gets a chance to showcase its depth, energy, and championship expectations.
Fans attending the event can also take advantage of complimentary parking in the East Campus Garage, courtesy of Texas Athletics, making it easy to enjoy a full day on campus.
For those unable to attend in person, the game will be streamed live on the Longhorn Network app, ensuring fans everywhere can be part of the experience.
Texas officially opens the regular season at home against UC Davis on Feb. 13, but Saturday’s event is the unofficial kickoff to another highly anticipated year of Longhorn baseball.
Between banners, Bevo, and a loaded roster, Jan. 31 promises to feel like baseball season in Austin once again.
