Texas basketball has offered four-star 2027 center Cherif Millogo, adding the Longhorns to a crowded national recruiting race for the rising big man.
Texas basketball has begun recruiting Cherif Millogo, one of the fastest-rising big men in the 2027 class.
The Longhorns extended an offer Tuesday to the four-star center from St. Francis High School in La Cañada Flintridge, California, adding another major target to Sean Miller’s expanding 2027 recruiting board.
Millogo is listed at roughly 7-5 and 250 pounds by current Rivals data and is ranked among the nation’s top 40 prospects in the 2027 cycle.
Rivals currently has him No. 37 overall and No. 6 among centers, while 247Sports also considers him a top-50 national prospect.
That size alone makes Millogo difficult to ignore, but his recruitment has gone well beyond potential.
He has already attracted offers from programs including Kentucky, Alabama, Arizona, BYU, Georgia, Nebraska, Syracuse, TCU, USC and Washington, with more major programs continuing to enter the picture.
Millogo’s development has been particularly notable considering how quickly his profile has grown.
A native of Burkina Faso, he previously played in Massachusetts before moving to California and has continued to climb recruiting boards after returning from a torn ACL.
His upside became obvious as his game expanded beyond simply protecting the rim.
Earlier in his high school career, Millogo produced a 30-point, 10-rebound, seven-assist performance that offered a glimpse of the skill level developing alongside his massive frame.
Texas is trying to build on significant momentum under Miller.
In Miller’s first season, the Longhorns went 21-15 and reached the Sweet 16, and the program followed that run by assembling a 2026 recruiting group that 247Sports ranked No. 1 nationally when freshmen and transfers were combined.
That gives Texas a compelling recruiting pitch.
“We want to recruit the very best players,” has effectively been the standard Miller has established since arriving in Austin, and pursuing Millogo certainly fits that approach.
Texas has yet to land its first commitment in the 2027 class, but the Longhorns are involved with several prominent prospects, including Beckham Black, Adan Diggs, Cayden Daughtry, Reese Alston and Lewis Uvwo.
Millogo can now be added prominently to that list.
With his recruitment becoming increasingly national, Texas is arriving late enough to face serious competition — but early enough to become a major factor.
