Xavier Worthy posts a season-best receiving day for Kansas City while Andrew Mukuba grabs a key interception for Philadelphia in NFL Week 4.
Two former Texas Longhorns made their presence felt in the NFL over the weekend.
Xavier Worthy and Andrew Mukuba both turned in standout Week 4 performances, giving Texas fans plenty to watch as the NFL season moves deeper into October.
Worthy delivered his best receiving game of the season in Kansas City’s 30-27 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. The former Texas speedster caught four passes for 70 yards on seven targets, averaging 17.5 yards per reception.
That performance pushed Worthy to 14 catches for 133 yards and one touchdown through four games this season.
More importantly, it looked like a step toward the explosive role Kansas City envisioned when it selected Worthy in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
His 70 receiving yards were a season high, highlighted by a 41-yard reception that helped stretch the Raiders’ defense vertically.
With Patrick Mahomes continuing to spread the ball around, Worthy’s ability to turn a handful of touches into chunk plays remains one of the Chiefs’ biggest offensive weapons.
Mukuba made his impact on the other side of the ball.
The Philadelphia safety intercepted Matthew Stafford during the Eagles’ 24-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, returning the pick 21 yards deep into Rams territory.
It was Philadelphia’s first interception of the season and Mukuba’s first of 2026.
Mukuba now has 20 total tackles and one interception through four games, continuing to establish himself as a significant piece of Philadelphia’s secondary after an encouraging rookie season.
The interception came on an overthrow by Stafford, but Mukuba still had to read the play, get into position and finish it.
That’s exactly the kind of development Philadelphia hoped to see from the former Texas defensive back.
The Eagles fell to 2-2 despite forcing two Stafford interceptions, while Kansas City remained unbeaten at 4-0.
For Texas fans, though, Week 4 provided another reminder that some of the program’s recent stars are beginning to make their mark on Sundays.
