Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns just got a major boost on the recruiting trail.
On Monday night, four-star running back Noah Roberts officially named Texas in his top 10 schools, per On3's Hayes Fawcett. The 2027 standout from Basha High School (Chandler, AZ) is one of the most dynamic backs in the nation and is currently ranked as a top-5 RB nationally and the No. 3 overall prospect in Arizona.
Joining the Longhorns in Roberts' final group are heavyweights like Oregon, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, USC, Washington, Arizona State, and Notre Dame.

But if history means anything, Texas has a very real shot here ... especially after the success of another star RB from Arizona named Bijan Robinson.
According to 247Sports analyst Greg Biggins, Roberts could be the best running back out of Arizona since Bijan. That's not just high praise, it's a major signal that Texas could be in line to strike gold again in the desert.
Roberts is the kind of back who checks every box as a physical runner with breakaway speed and soft hands as a pass-catcher. He's piled up 761 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on 116 carries this season, plus 562 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 50 catches, making him a true dual-threat weapon in any offensive scheme.
He's also not afraid of contact. Biggins highlighted Roberts' fearless running style and ability to fall forward through hits - exactly the kind of toughness Sark loves in his hybrid backs.
With five-star WR Easton Royal and three-star safety Karnell "Greedy" James already committed in the 2027 class, landing Roberts could be a momentum-builder, especially as Texas looks to compete with Oklahoma and Tennessee in the new-look SEC recruiting wars.

Roberts' recruitment will heat up as we get deeper into the 2026 cycle, but one thing's clear: Texas is right in the mix, and the staff is laying down serious groundwork for another elite class.
If Sarkisian pulls this off, the Longhorns may be one step closer to building the next offensive dynasty ... and maybe adding Bijan 2.0 to their backfield.
