Texas men’s tennis earned the No. 2 overall seed and will host NCAA first- and second-round matches in Austin this weekend.
No. 1 Texas men’s tennis will begin its NCAA Championship run at home after landing the No. 2 overall seed in the 2026 tournament bracket.
The Longhorns, who enter the postseason at 24-6, will host first- and second-round action at the Texas Tennis Center on Friday, May 1, and Saturday, May 2.
Texas opens against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 1 p.m. CT Friday, while No. 32 SMU faces No. 37 Princeton at 10 a.m. CT. The two winners will meet Saturday at 4 p.m. CT with a spot in the next round on the line.
For Texas, this is familiar territory. The Longhorns have now earned a top-three NCAA seed for the fourth straight season, following a No. 3 seed in 2025, a No. 2 seed in 2024 and the No. 1 overall seed in 2023. Texas has also been seeded in the top four in six of the last seven NCAA tournaments that were played.
The selection extends one of the sport’s most reliable postseason streaks. Texas is making its 34th consecutive NCAA Championship appearance and its 43rd overall since the bracketed format began in 1977. The Longhorns own an 82-41 all-time NCAA Tournament record.
Austin has also become a regular postseason stop. Texas will host the opening rounds for the ninth straight year and for the 11th time in the last 12 NCAA tournaments held.
The Longhorns won the 2019 national championship and finished as NCAA runner-up in 2008 and 2024. They also reached the semifinals in 2025, continuing a stretch of 11 straight trips to at least the Round of 16.
Admission will be free for this weekend’s matches. Paid parking is available in East Campus Garage, and the Texas Tennis Center uses a clear bag policy.
