Four Texas Longhorns helped Team USA storm to U21 Pan American Cup gold, finishing 5-0 and dropping just one set in a dominant championship run in Ohio in 2026.
Texas Volleyball didn’t merely have a presence at the 2026 U21 Pan American Cup. The Longhorns practically helped take over the tournament.
Henley Anderson, Genevieve Harris, Taylor Harvey and Abby Vander Wal powered Team USA to the gold medal in Columbus, Ohio, completing an unbeaten run with a convincing sweep of Canada in the championship match.
The Americans finished 5-0, lost only one set across the entire event and repeatedly overwhelmed opponents with a roster featuring four important pieces of Texas’ future.
That’s one intimidating offseason statement.
Anderson delivered one of the tournament’s most complete performances.
She recorded nine points in the 25-18, 25-19, 25-21 championship victory, finishing with four kills, three aces and two blocks.
Her biggest explosion came during pool play against Canada, when she produced a team-high 17 points on 13 kills and four aces.
Vander Wal brought plenty of firepower of her own. She opened the tournament with a team-best 13 points against Venezuela, then hammered a match-high 14 kills when the United States defeated Canada in four sets during pool play.
Harvey made life miserable for Mexico at the net. She totaled 12 points on eight kills and four blocks during the opening-round meeting before adding six more points when the teams met again in the semifinals.
Harris helped run the American attack while also becoming a scoring threat herself.
Against Mexico in pool play, she generated seven points with four aces, two blocks and a kill.
She also contributed during the tournament-opening sweep of Venezuela, when Team USA hit nearly .500.
The Americans never allowed the championship to become dramatic.
After handling Venezuela, Mexico and Canada during pool competition, Team USA received a quarterfinal bye and then crushed Mexico in straight sets. Canada couldn’t slow the momentum in the final, either.
For Texas, the gold medal run offers more than another collection of international highlights.
Four current Longhorns gained meaningful experience in elimination matches, performed under pressure and helped the United States dominate talented competition.
The program’s international reach didn’t stop with the U21 team. Former Texas stars Saige Ka’aha’aina-Torres, Molly McCage, Asjia O’Neal, Logan Eggleston and Chiaka Ogbogu helped the senior U.S. team earn the No. 1 seed for the Volleyball Nations League finals.
Texas Volleyball already carries championship expectations every season. After what its current and former players accomplished for Team USA, those expectations aren’t getting any smaller.
The Longhorns went international — and came home carrying gold.
