Texas will host four-star RB Landen Williams-Callis June 19-21, giving Steve Sarkisian a massive shot at one of 2027’s most explosive recruits.
Texas Longhorns recruiting is getting a prime-time crack at one of the nastiest playmakers in the 2027 class, and Steve Sarkisian won’t want to waste it.
Four-star running back Landen Williams-Callis is expected to visit Austin during the weekend of June 19-21, giving Texas a huge opportunity to make its move in a heavyweight national recruitment.
Williams-Callis isn’t just another in-state target. He’s one of the best backs in America.
The Randle High School star is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 3 running back in the 2027 cycle, the No. 4 player in Texas and the No. 28 overall prospect in the country.
That kind of profile gets everyone’s attention.
And sure enough, the offer list already looks like a playoff bracket. Oregon, Texas A&M, Indiana, SMU, Houston, Ohio State, Alabama, Missouri, Arizona, Florida State and Georgia are among the programs chasing him.
With no commitment date locked in, this recruitment still has room to get louder, messier and more expensive in terms of staff energy.
But Texas has a real opening here.
Williams-Callis is coming off a ridiculous 2025 season that looked more like a video game than a high school stat sheet.
He rushed for 3,502 yards, averaged 10.8 yards per carry and scored 59 touchdowns. He also caught 24 passes for 266 yards, proving he’s not just a downhill hammer.
He’s a home-run threat, a passing-game option and the kind of back who can flip a drive with one cut.
For Sarkisian, that’s the exact kind of weapon that fits the modern Texas offense.
The Longhorns have already built serious momentum in the 2027 class, landing five-star prospect Easton Royal along with four-star commitments Cameron Hall, Kasi Currie, Karnell James, Brock Williams and Derwin Fields.
Adding Williams-Callis would put even more horsepower into a class already packed with star power.
The pitch in Austin should be simple: stay home, become a centerpiece and help bring another championship push to the Forty Acres.
Of course, Texas won’t get him without a fight. Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon and Texas A&M aren’t exactly background noise.
But getting Williams-Callis on campus gives Sarkisian and his staff a chance to turn interest into real traction. For now, the Longhorns are very much in the game.
And when a 3,500-yard back walks into Austin, everyone in college football should pay attention.
