Texas didn't just end A&M's perfect season, it rattled Mike Elko, shook the walls at DKR and walked out with the win, the noise and the bragging rights.

What was supposed to be Texas A&M’s coronation turned into Texas' greatest petty party in years.

The Aggies rolled into Austin at 11-0 with a chance to clinch their first SEC Championship Game berth and finally rip the Longhorn off their back.

Instead, they left with a 27-17 loss, no ticket to Atlanta and the sound of Texas celebrating echoing through the bowels of DKR — loud enough to rattle Mike Elko in real time.

While the Longhorns whooped it up in the locker room after spoiling A&M's perfect season, Elko sat down for his postgame press conference and immediately got an earful of burnt orange joy bleeding through the walls.

The Longhorns had just ruined the dream, and they were making sure everybody in the building knew it.

Elko tried to lock in, but the victory noise kept crashing his session. Finally, the frustration spilled over.

"Can we close the door?" he snapped, his voice jumping a level before he slammed his hand on the table. "And run a professional press conference, please? My Gosh."

For a brief second, the usually composed Aggies head coach wore everything Texas fans wanted him to feel. The weight of 11-1 instead of 12-0, 5,482 days since A&M's last win over Texas, and yet another night where the rival got to dance on their disappointment.

Elko quickly shook his head, stared down at the table and apologized for the outburst. But it was too late. The moment had already gone viral, and in Austin, it played like a victory lap.

Texas had flipped the script.

A&M arrived "hunting history," chasing their first 12-win regular season since 1992 and that elusive SEC title shot they’ve never tasted since joining the SEC in 2012.

Instead, the Aggies managed just 17 points after scoring 30-plus in six of seven league games, surrendered 24 in the second half and watched their undefeated season get burned down in front of a roaring DKR crowd.

Now the Aggies will sit at home until Sunday, Dec. 7, waiting to see their College Football Playoff seed and whether they'll grab a first-round bye.

No matter where they land, one image will haunt them from Austin. Texas players celebrating through the walls, and Mike Elko pounding the table as the sound of someone else's joy crashed his press conference.

In this rivalry, style points matter, and the Longhorns just hung a loud, echoing L on their biggest rival.
