Texas women’s basketball added more star power as Addison Bjorn, Lizzy Spaight, and Brihanna Crittendon each captured Gatorade Player of the Year honors.

Texas women’s basketball is chasing a national title right now, but the future in Austin is already screaming for attention.

The Lady Longhorns are set to welcome a 2026 recruiting class loaded with star power, and three incoming signees just added even more shine to their resumes.
Addison Bjorn, Lizzy Spaight, and Brihanna Crittendon each claimed Gatorade Player of the Year honors in their home states, giving Texas a recruiting haul that looks every bit as dangerous as advertised.

Bjorn has been putting together monster numbers for a while now. The Missouri standout repeated as her state’s top girls basketball player after averaging 25.7 points and 14.3 rebounds per game as a senior.

That’s not just productive. That’s takeover stuff. Bjorn has become the kind of player who can flip a game with scoring, physicality, and relentless motor, and that should fit beautifully in Austin.

Spaight brings a different kind of edge, but the results are just as impressive. The Nevada star put up 19.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 4.0 steals per game, showing the kind of all-around game coaches love.

Even better for Texas, she helped power Bishop Gorman to a state championship, which says plenty about her ability to impact winning, not just box scores.

Then there’s Crittendon, who may be the most explosive of the bunch. The Colorado standout averaged 28.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game, and her ranking backs up the buzz. ESPN lists her as the No. 8 player in her class, which gives the Longhorns another elite piece with serious scoring pop.

And here’s the scary part for the rest of the country ... all three are ranked in the ESPN top 15.

Texas isn’t just recruiting well. It’s stacking elite talent behind a program that already knows how to develop stars. The Longhorns are built for March now, but this class hints that the next few years in Austin could be even louder.
