In Texas' 35-10 loss to Georgia, it has been confirmed that Anthony Hill's suffered a broken nose. However, the injury is not thought to impact his availability in the Longhorns' next game at Arkansas.

The Texas Longhorns suffered a brutal loss on the scoreboard on Saturday, falling to the Georgia Bulldogs 35-10 in Athens, and they also might've suffered just as detrimental a loss on the field.

Star linebacker Anthony Hill, Texas' leading tackler, went down in the fourth quarter with what is now confirmed as a broken bone in his hand, sources tell 247Sports.

As Texas trailed 21-10 with 11 minutes to go, Hill was slow to get up as he was attended to by Texas athletic trainers and head coach Steve Sarkisian.

The junior Hill will reportedly undergo testing at the beginning of the week before the Longhorns head to Fayetteville to play the Arkansas Razorbacks on Nov. 22. The Longhorns' regular-season finale is back in Austin against hated rival Texas A&M - a matchup that expects to feature major CFP implications - on Nov. 28.

Explosive sophomore wide receiver Ryan Wingo has also been laboring a thumb injury that was suffered two weeks ago against Vanderbilt before Texas' bye week. Sarkisian spoke about both of the impactful starters to begin the week:

"Both Ant and Ryan, we're just making sure that they're going to be okay. I'm not ready to make that diagnosis on where they're going to be yet, but feel optimistic," Sarkisian said.

Hill, who was named as a semifinalist for the Bednarik Award given to the nation's top defensive player, was one of Texas' best defenders against the No. 5-ranked Bulldogs, posting six tackles, half a tackle for loss and an interception. He is also a semifinalist for the Butkus Award given to the best linebacker in the country.

On the season, the former five-star recruit from Denton Ryan has registered 69 tackles and three forced fumbles, two picks, seven TFLs and four sacks as the captain of Texas' front seven.

"I'm not sure if he's gonna play or what's going on, but hopefully he does," said defensive end Ethan Burke about his teammate. "We got really talented guys - Ty'Anthony [Smith], Trey Moore, Liona Lefau - who can fill in there, too, as well. We will feel [Hill's] presence for sure, during practice and whatnot, but just hoping he gets better, because we need him, and he's great, a huge part of our defense."

Earlier this year, Hill earned Bednarik National Player of the Week honors after racking up 10 tackles, four TFLs, three sacks and a forced fumble against Mississippi State in Week 10.
