No. 2 Texas Tech softball brings a 16-1 record home for the Jeannine McHaney Classic after 17 road games, powered by KT Terry and an elite pitching staff.

After living out of suitcases for nearly a month, No. 2 Texas Tech softball is finally unpacking at Rocky Johnson Field - and doing so with serious momentum.

The Red Raiders (16-1) open the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic this week, marking their first home appearance of the 2026 season after 17 consecutive road games.

The six-game slate gives Lubbock fans their first look at a squad that has quickly established itself as one of the most dangerous teams in college softball.

And it starts in the circle. Kaitlyn “KT” Terry has been lights out. She’s hitting .486 at the plate while dominating as a pitcher with a 6-0 record, a 1.34 ERA and 47 strikeouts.

Terry already etched her name in program history with the 11th no-hitter in school history during a 16-0 rout of UC Riverside. But she’s far from alone.

NiJaree Canady owns a 1.41 ERA with 49 strikeouts across 39.2 innings and a 6-1 record, while Samantha Lincoln has been nearly untouchable.

Lincoln boasts a microscopic 0.64 ERA in 22 innings with a 4-0 mark. Together, the trio has made Texas Tech’s pitching staff look overwhelming.

Head coach Gerry Glasco continues to experiment offensively, rolling out 17 different lineups in 17 games. It’s a strategy rooted in depth and versatility, not uncertainty. With this much talent, flexibility becomes a weapon.

The timing couldn’t be better for a home stand. Fans will also see upgrades around Rocky Johnson Field, including enhanced lighting, improved netting, additional shade and an updated sound system — all ready to amplify what’s already been a historic start.

The Red Raiders aren’t just coming home. They’re bringing national title aspirations with them.
