Sorsby needs targets. Can Coleman join Texas Tech, or will USC or A&M snatch the dynamic receiver? A championship race looms.

The Texas Tech football program just landed arguably the biggest fish in the NCA transfer portal in Texas native and former Cincinnati QB Brendan Sorsby.

But now Sorsby needs a few more guys to throw to.

Enter Auburn Tigers sophomore wide receiver Cam Coleman, also among the most coveted players in the transfer portal.

Word is Coleman, a 6-foot-3, 201-pound target with two years of eligibility left, is narrowing his list of potential landing spots.

And maybe it's down to three.

In play: The USC Trojans. The Red Raiders' old pals from Texas A&M. And the Red Raiders themselves.

Coleman, 19, is a native of Alabama who started his college career in his home region after having been a "Five-Star Plus+ prospect in the 2024 class.

As a freshman, Coleman played in 10 games, catching 37 passes for 598 yards and eight touchdowns, and he earned SEC All-Freshman Team honors.

This year he led Auburn with 56 receptions for 708 yards and five touchdowns.

It seems his decision to leave Auburn is tied to the firing of head coach Hugh Freeze. And now? If it's stability at QB and a relationship with a coach that he seeks? All with a program aiming for a national title?

In Lubbock, with a College Football Playoff berth under their belt? Brendan Sorsby offers the former. And Joey McGuire offers the second.
