After a coming-out season, Texas Tech is primed to send several Red Raiders into the NFL with a loaded draft class.
Following a memorable and successful campaign last season, Texas Tech is looking to see more success on NFL Draft weekend. The Red Raiders are primed to send several faces into the professional ranks with a class not often seen in Lubbock.
While the big names are known, here is a list of all of the Red Raiders hoping to hear their name called in Pittsburgh.
David Bailey (DL)
One of the highest-rated prospects to ever come out of Texas Tech, edge rusher David Bailey has the hype and talent to back it up. Many analysts have Bailey going within the first five picks and no worse than the top 10.
Romello Height (DL)
Another member of the Red Raiders' wrecking crew last season, Romello Height supported Bailey off the edge and has made a strong case of his own to be an early selection. He is projected to go within the early second-round.
Lee Hunter (DT)
A force to be reckoned with along the line, Lee Hunter impressed in one season in Lubbock and continued to excel in pre-draft showcases. The big man is touted as a potential second-round talent.
Jacob Rodriguez (LB)
Fan-favorite and Heisman-contending linebacker Jacob Rodriguez looks primed to take his talents and iconic mustache into the NFL. He had a great pre-draft cycle and is presumed to be an early second-rounder, but could sneak into the first round (looking at you, Cowboys.)
Skyler Gill-Howard (DT)
Yet another defensive prospect, Skyler Gill-Howard had his lone season with Texas Tech cut short, due to an injury. However, many teams have been impressed with his recovery and he is presumed as a Day 3 snag.
Caleb Douglas (WR)
One half of a Texas Tech tag-team of wideouts, Caleb Douglas was electric last season with the Red Raiders. He is slotted into the fifth to seventh rounds and looks to be a steal for whoever picks him up.
Reggie Virgil (WR)
The other half of the aforementioned duo, Reggie Virgil profiles very similarly to his counterpart in Douglas, even down to his projected late-round selection.
Behren Morton (QB)
Quarterback Behren Morton is the final Red Raider who made a trip to the combine and serves as the true line between drafted and undrafted prospects for Texas Tech. He has made a case for himself leading up to draft day and could be an easy backup choice in the late rounds.
There are other Red Raiders up for selection, most notably safety Cole Wisniewski, who has increased his stock after being a combine snub.
For a program that has sent some elite talent to the NFL over the years, including the arguable face of the league in Patrick Mahomes II, it is shaping up to be another great year for Red Raiders headed to the professional ranks.
