Paramount+ is putting Texas Tech football under the microscope with a four-part docuseries chronicling a chaotic, high-stakes offseason in Lubbock.
Texas Tech football is about to get the full streaming treatment, and the timing couldn’t be better.
Paramount+ has greenlit a four-episode docuseries focused on the Red Raiders, offering a behind-the-scenes look at a Texas Tech offseason that has already been described as “landscape-altering.”
The series has been filming since January and is expected to premiere before the 2026 college football season, giving fans a rare look inside a program trying to turn momentum into something much bigger.
This isn’t just another polished hype video with slow-motion workouts and locker room speeches.
With cameras embedded inside the building for months, the project is expected to dig into the pressure, chaos, recruiting battles, roster building and daily grind that define modern college football.
That’s the sell. And honestly, it’s a pretty strong one.
The docuseries is being directed by Micah Brown, whose past work includes Coach Prime and Untold: Sign Stealer.
That alone should get the attention of college football fans who love the drama behind the scoreboard as much as the games themselves.
Skydance Sports Senior Vice President of Unscripted Greg Groggel made it clear the production team believes Texas Tech is sitting in the middle of something bigger than a normal offseason.
“This has proven to be a landscape-altering offseason and we’ve been lucky to have a front row seat,” Groggel said. “This series will present fans and viewers with an unprecedented window into everything that is defining college football today.”
That’s the key phrase: everything defining college football today.
Texas Tech isn’t just trying to win games. Like every ambitious Power Four program, it’s operating in an era shaped by NIL, the transfer portal, recruiting wars, donor power and massive expectations.
The Red Raiders are being positioned as a program worth watching, not just regionally, but nationally.
Texas Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt called the project a chance for Red Raider Nation to see what makes the department tick.
“This documentary will give the Red Raider Nation an inside look at everything that makes Texas Tech Athletics special, the people, the passion, and the relentless pursuit of excellence that defines this program every day,” Hocutt said.
The series is being produced by Skydance Sports and Second Wind Creative. Skydance has already been involved in major sports projects, including Air, Elway, WWE: Unreal and America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys.
For Texas Tech, this is more than exposure. It’s a statement.
The Red Raiders believe something big is building in Lubbock, and now Paramount+ cameras are there to capture every tense, messy, high-stakes step of it.
