Take a look at Texas Tech's conference championship jewelry from the historic 2025 season.
LUBBOCK - Texas Tech will see a handful of players drafted in this month's NFL Draft, and while some are taking their talents to the pros, the Red Raiders still return a sizable amount of talent from one of the program's best teams.
Last year, Texas Tech set a program record in wins and won its first Big 12 Conference championship. The Red Raiders appeared in the College Football Playoff for the first time ever, and were one of the biggest surprises to some across the country.
But this wasn't a surprise for head coach Joey McGuire, who along with a committed staff and dedicated supply of elite resources, proved to the nation that Texas Tech is legit.
And no hardware is representative of that more than championship jewelry.
McGuire and the Red Raiders received their conference championship rings this week, and they pay homage to all the history Tech created in this memorable year.
Emblazoned on the top is an iconic red Double T overlayed on the state of Texas, replicating the center field logo at Jones Stadium in Lubbock.
The sides are fit with players' names, jersey numbers, the CFP icon and the final score of the Big 12 title game (34-7).
On the underside of the ring is McGuire's rally cry for the program, "The Brand." It's a phrase that embodies how the Red Raiders strive to be the "toughest, hardest working, and most competitive team in the country."
That motto permeates through the entire facility, because it wasn't just the players and coaches getting recognized recently for their excellence.
Texas Tech Receives FWAA Super 11 Award in Back-to-Back Years
The Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) named Texas Tech one of its 2025 Super 11 award recipients. It is the program's second consecutive honor, which recognizes the "best-performing College Sports Communicators departments in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision," according to Tech Athletics.
"It is an honor for Texas Tech to be recognized among the nation's best by the FWAA," said Robert Giovannetti, Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Relations and Strategic Communications. "The Texas Tech brand has never been stronger or more popular. Our communications staff, with the help of our creative services and broadcasting teams as well as many in our department, play a huge role in telling our story and building our narrative as one of college football's newest national contenders."
