The best of Texas Tech were on full display on Thursday, as the program welcomed scouts from across the NFL to Lubbock for the team's Pro Day.
Several highly touted Red Raiders alongside some potential sleeper selections showcased their skills in front of representatives from all 32 of the league's teams.
While every team was in attendance, four franchises had their head coaches in attendance to take in everything that Texas Tech has to offer next month in Pittsburgh.
Those four coaches were Dallas Cowboys' Brian Schottenheimer, New Orleans Saints' Kellen Moore, New York Jets' Aaron Glenn and Cincinnati Bengals' Zac Taylor.
Edge rusher David Bailey continued to showcase his talents, as he makes a bid for a potential top five overall pick. Alongside Bailey, fellow edge rusher Romello Height and star linebacker Jacob Rodriguez added fuel to their cases for being a late day one to early day two selections.
After skipping out on bench press at the combine, Rodriguez was able to reach 23 reps inside his home facility.
Outside of the heavily scouted prospects, Texas Tech had a few under-the-radar guys highlight their skills. After not being invited to the NFL Combine, former standout safety Cole Wisniewski put up impressive numbers in front of curious team eyes.
According to Texas Tech, he racked up 20 reps on bench press, which would have led all defensive backs at the combine.
Outside of Wisniewski, fan favorite linebacker Bryce Ramirez had a stellar showing after also being excluded from the combine.
He had 31 reps on bench press, which has not been done by a linebacker at the combine since 2019, ran a 6.70 3-cone drill, which would have beaten all other linebackers at the combine this year, and posted a 10-8 broad jump, which was better than all but two linebackers at the combine.
Offensively, former Red Raider quarterback Behren Morton showcased his skills once again after making a trip to the NFL Combine.
He connected with offensive weapons throughout the day, including wideout Reggie Virgil, who is making a case to be as high as a third round snag.
While the last game Morton started left much to be desired, he had a good showing at the combine and continued to prove he is more than one game in his return to Lubbock.
Texas Tech has sent countless Red Raiders into the NFL over the years, look no further than current league sensation and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes II, who was back at his alma mater with the team Thursday. However, it has been a long time, and arguably first time, that the program has put forth this many prospects that could make a serious impact on rosters throughout the professional stage.
Head coach Joey McGuire and company can be proud of not only the Big 12 Championship last year's team had, but of the countless players their staff helped develop into potential forces on Sundays. McGuire and Texas Tech are sure to cheering on all their prospects when the NFL Drafts gets underway on April 23-25.
