Texas Tech sluggers Logan Hughes and Caden Ferraro cracked MLB.com’s Top 200 draft prospects after monster 2026 seasons in Lubbock.
Texas Tech baseball has two more bats firmly on the MLB Draft radar, and Logan Hughes is leading the charge.
Hughes landed at No. 47 in MLB.com’s updated Top 200 draft prospects, while fellow Red Raider outfielder Caden Ferraro checked in at No. 189 ahead of the 2026 MLB Draft in Philadelphia.
For a Texas Tech lineup that spent the season punishing pitchers, the recognition feels earned.
Hughes put together the kind of year that forces scouts to pay attention.
The Deland native hit .375 across 200 at-bats, hammered 18 home runs and drove in 71 runs over 55 games.
He also showed elite strike-zone control, walking 50 times while striking out just 33. Add in a .735 slugging percentage, .510 on-base percentage and 1.263 OPS, and the profile gets loud fast.
His Texas Tech career numbers are just as nasty.
In 107 games, Hughes hit .350 with 37 home runs, 129 RBI, 120 runs and 144 hits.
He also walked 76 times compared to only 57 strikeouts, finishing with a .461 career on-base percentage.
Big 12 pitching didn’t slow him down, either. Hughes hit .384 in 60 career conference games with 20 homers, 60 RBI and a 1.162 OPS.
His 37 career home runs are tied for seventh in Texas Tech history, and he became just the second Red Raider, joining Josh Bard, to reach 20 career Big 12 homers.
Ferraro made his own statement after transferring from Blinn College.
The former JUCO World Series champion hit .374 with 70 hits, 19 doubles, eight home runs and 46 RBI.
He also posted a .481 on-base percentage and .604 slugging percentage.
Hughes earned First Team All-Big 12 honors, while Ferraro was named Second Team All-Big 12 at designated hitter.
Now, both wait for draft weekend.
